Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Terms for using PlotX’s research workspace and public website.

The service.

PlotX is an independent research platform operated under the PlotX brand. It provides tools to import research data, create and edit figures using R, save project work and export outputs.

These terms cover the website at plotx.app and the workspace at workspace.plotx.app. They take effect on the publication date shown above.

Accounts and subscriptions.

Registration does not grant workspace access. We contact you to arrange payment; submitting a request does not charge you. Paid access starts after payment confirmation and approval and lasts 30 days. Renewals are manual, with no automatic charges.

After expiry, saved work is retained but workspace access requires renewal. Usage limits apply. Subscription questions: hello@plotx.app.

Use an account you are authorized to control. Keep passwords and account-access links private. Contact PlotX if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account and for providing accurate information needed to manage it.

Your data and content.

You retain the rights you hold in your uploaded datasets, project descriptions, R code, captions and other submitted content. You must have the permissions needed to upload, process and use that content through PlotX.

By submitting content, you permit PlotX and the service providers needed for its operation to host, process, store, render, export and back up that content for providing, maintaining and securing the service. This permission does not transfer ownership of your research to PlotX.

Do not submit personal, confidential or restricted information without appropriate authority. Review the Privacy Policy for information handling, providers and backup-retention details.

Researcher responsibilities.

You are responsible for your experimental design, data quality, variable mappings, analysis choices, interpretation and use of the results. Review imported values, generated R code and exported outputs before relying on them.

A generated figure does not by itself establish statistical significance, validate assumptions, establish causation or certify scientific correctness. Statistical testing is a separate action under Analysis. Figures and synthetic examples are not a substitute for research judgment or appropriate expert review.

Check any journal, institution, funder or publication requirements that apply to your work. PlotX does not promise that an output will meet every publication standard.

Acceptable use.

Use PlotX lawfully and within the access granted to you. Do not:

  • Access or attempt to obtain another person’s account, research content or private outputs without authorization.
  • Upload unlawful content, malicious files or information you lack permission to process.
  • Bypass account controls, interfere with other users or deliberately overload the service.
  • Attempt to use R execution or other features to compromise the host, service providers or third-party systems.
  • Misrepresent the website’s synthetic examples as empirical research results or claim that PlotX has validated work it has not validated.

Availability and account restrictions.

Features, limits and access arrangements may change. Processing can fail, outputs can require revision and maintenance can interrupt access. Keep your own copies of source data and important exports.

PlotX may restrict or suspend access when reasonably needed to address misuse, security concerns, legal obligations or service protection. Where appropriate, contact can be made through the account’s email address.

Account and content-deletion requests can be sent to hello@plotx.app. Existing recovery copies are handled as described in the Privacy Policy; deletion of an active account does not automatically remove previous backups.

Service limitations.

The pilot is provided without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every research purpose. To the extent permitted by applicable law, PlotX does not give warranties of scientific accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or continuous availability.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, PlotX is not responsible for losses resulting from incorrect data or interpretation, reliance on unreviewed outputs, or interruption or loss of access to the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights, remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not create a scientific certification or an uptime guarantee.

Changes, questions and contact.

These terms identify their effective date above. Changes to the service and these terms should be reflected in updated wording and communicated as appropriate.

For questions, account issues or concerns about these terms, contact hello@plotx.app. Raise a concern with PlotX first so it can be understood and addressed.
